Consumers are shifting towards smarter, greener, more accessible and affordable options much like the previous year but with a much more innovative, ingenious and artistic outlook. With a significant amount of consumers pushing for sustainable flexible packaging solutions, reinforces the need for sustainability even stronger than ever as none of us is ready to face another calamity arising out of waste in the future.

India’s government announced March 6 it would ban imports of plastic waste, following similar moves by China and other Asian countries. According to Indian press accounts, the move extends what had been a partial ban. Previously, India had allowed scrap plastic imports into special economic zones and “exported-oriented units” that would use the scrap in their manufacturing operations. But the new ban prohibits that as well. At the opening ceremony of Indiaplast 2019, the head of India’s largest flexible packaging firm said the industry is trying to show that plastics are recyclable, amid the increasing government pressure. Uflex plummets 7% after reporting net loss of Rs 85 crore in December quarter

 Uflex, one of India's leading flexible packaging companies, share price declined 7 percent in the morning session on February 15, a day after the company reported a loss in the December quarter of the financial year 2022-23. The company reported a net loss of Rs 85 crore against a profit of Rs 313 crore in the same period a year ago. At 12.13 pm, Uflex was trading at Rs 483.30 on the National Stock Exchange, down 5.52 percent from the previous day's close. Read more
