February 28, 2019, Noida (India): IndiaPlast, the biggest plastics show in India was inaugurated today by Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant in the presence of Arun Kumar Panda, Secretary from Ministry of MSME, Mahendra N Patel, Chairman, PMMAI and Uflex CMD Ashok Kumar Chaturvedi. The 5 day exhibition being held at IndiaExpo Centre in Greater Noida will conclude on March 04, 2019.

Addressing the media at the inaugural ceremony, Ashok Chaturvedi, CMD of Uflex Ltd. emphasized on the importance of plastics and it’s recycling in India. He said that the only alternative available as of now for plastic is wood. However, with the kind of requirement that exists, wood will not be a viable solution as all trees will have to be cut resulting shaving the green off our planet.

Uflex Posts Highest Ever Quarterly Production Volume; Robust Net Revenue for Q2FY18-19 Backed by 10.6% Y-O-Y Surge in Sales Volume

  03 November 2018, Noida, Uttar Pradesh(India): India’s flexible packaging giant, Uflex Limited reported 10.6% increase in overall sales volume on year-on-year basis, thereby achieving highest ever consolidated net revenue of INR 2020.8 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2018. The consolidated net revenues showed a jump of 26% from INR 1603.8 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. Uflex also achieved the highest ever quarterly total production volume of 102442 MT. The consolidated EBITDA for Q2FY18-19 increased by almost 12% Y-O-Y to INR 264.6 crore from INR 236.5 crore. The consolidated net profit for Q2FY18-19 at INR 95.7 crores was higher by 1.5% Y-OY. Commenting on the earnings, Rajesh Bhatia, Group CFO at Uflex Limited said, “In the flexible packaging industry, a reliable indicator of growth is volume which conspicuously reflects the demand of the company’s products. Let’s try and understand the principle of Rotogravure and Flexographic Printing Technology! Gravure printing is a type of intaglio printing process; i.e., it involves engraving the image onto an image carrier. In rotogravure printing the image is acid-etched on the surface of a metal cylinder—one cylinder for each color—in a pattern of cells. The cells are recessed into the cylinder, unlike relief printing or letterpress where the printing image is raised, or like offset printing, in which the image is level with the plate. The cylinder is etched with cells of different depths. These cells hold the ink that is transferred to the substrate.
