KRAFTIKA: Crafting a Sustainable Experience with Paper-Based Tubes
Aligning with our approach to have sustainability as the driving factor behind our innovations, UFlex has developed an eco-friendly tube packaging for different applications available in different dimensions. The Paper based tube packaging – KRAFTIKA, crafted by UFlex was developed on the concept of REDUCING the use of plastics at the source itself, thereby minimizing the overall impact on the environment that a conventional tube has. KRAFTIKA involves replacing plastic with a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified virgin kraft paper that helps reduction of tube’s body weight by up to 45%. FSC certification vouches that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits. KRAFTIKA tubes provide all the features of FlexiTubes in addition to it being eco-friendly which adds more to its acceptability over conventional tubes.
The need to develop a tube that has multiple attributes and reduces impact on the environment was long felt and KRAFTIKA was developed to replace plastic used in tube with sustainable material without compromising on its barrier properties and ensuring that it renders the same features. KRAFTIKA tubes are made of paper with adequate moisture resistance and high burst strength integrated into the structure. The FSC certified kraft paper provides stiffness to the body of the tube and allows for excellent bounce back properties, it prevents collapsing of the tube even after continuous use and decreasing of the filled contents. Manufacturing of KRAFTIKA tube involves seamless integration with our existing operational parameters both in laminate production as well as tube making process, thus allowing a smooth transition to paper-based tubes.
